Little Valley Nurseries, Inc. was established in 1979. At that time, the nursery consisted of approximately 15 acres of field and container stock and a staff of four people. Over the years we have grown to over 140 acres with a staff of over 100 people during our peak season. We now offer 500 varieties of perennials, 275 varieties of shrubs and over 130 varieties of trees (with over 70 varieties of trees and shrubs grown in our own fields)! We are proud to be a family owned company!

Not only do our customers have access to a large variety of plants at the nursery, Little Valley also brokers plants from many nurseries across the United States and Canada. This allows us to supply our customers with an even broader selection of region specific plants, unique varieties, and sizes that we do not normally carry in our inventory. Little Valley also works closely with Colorado State University and the Denver Botanic Gardens for testing, growing and distributing of new Plant Select® varieties.

Many of the plants that we produce can be seen in our arboretum. The arboretum is constantly undergoing change, and is available for guests to see ornamental grasses, broadleaf evergreens, dry shade gardens, and specialty conifers, among others. It is also used as a source for seed collecting and for cuttings.

Another aspect of our commitment to customer service is our delivery service. Our distribution system is one of the most effective and wide ranging in the Rocky Mountain region. Little Valley has a fleet of trucks delivering weekly north into Wyoming and south to New Mexico and several times a week to the I-70 corridor as well as many local metro deliveries daily. Our perennial and shrub plugs have been shipped all across the US and Canada and into local markets.

Our newly redesigned website offers our customers access to live availability, a live ordering system and customer invoices as well as a comprehensive photo and plant description database.

In 1995, Little Valley adopted “The Rocky Mountain Standard” as our slogan to serve as a constant reminder for each employee of a continuing commitment to each of our customers that we are striving to be the best wholesale distributor in the western region!
